Flowers and what they symbolize

It's about time for me to join 'bloging' culture. So, being a Wedding florist decide (for my first blog )to put short article about symbolic flower meanings in bouquets and arrangements...
In olden times Lithuanian brides used to carry non-flowers bouquet, but tied bundles of herbs which they believed scared off evil spirits.
Rosemary had to insure fidelity,dill- passion, and sage for the wisdom. They even soaked Marigolds in rose water as a aphrodisiacs for the first night...
Only later herbs been replays ed by flowers: lilies for purity,daisies- innocence, ivy to secure loyalty, wheat - fertility, spring time brides used tree blossoms in a bouquet for luck and success.
